  69.               Installation Is At Any Rate A Simple Process.

  73. To Make Life Easier, Don't worry about all this seemingly complicated

  75. stuff. Just Copy The Portfolio To A Blank Formatted Disk And Load Your
  76.  
  77. Workbench Disk. The Go To The Other Disk And Load The Portfolio From

  79. There. The Stuff Below Is Just For The More Advanced Users Who Want To 
  80.  
  81. Put The Portfolio On A Disk All By Itself For Use Without The Workbench

  86. 1. Copy The File "The Portfolio" To A disk. Along With It's 
  87.    "The Portfolio.info" File. As you probably know, this ".info" 
  88.    file is the icon for The Portfolio.

  90. 2. Make Sure That You Boot From A Working System Disk. The System Disk
  91.    Must Have Those "Matheedob" Whatever Files And The "Icon" And "Info" 
  92.    ".Libraries" In the "Libs" Directory For The Portfolio To Work.

  94. 3. For The Portfolio To Print Properly, You Must Also Have All The 
  95.    Necessary Files In The "Devs" Drawer. And The "L:" Directory If You 
  96.    Do Not Know Which Files To Copy, Simply Copy The "Devs" and "L:" 
  97.    Directories From A Disk That You Know Prints With Your Printer.

  99. 4. That's It. Now Boot The Disk And Load The Portfolio! Of Course Make
  100.    Sure The Disk Has A Boot Block. Which Can Be Installed With The
  101.    Install Command.

  109.      Most of the features of the Portfolio are quite easy to use, For

  111. the most of the funcions, there is a online HELP button. You can access

  113. the Help window at any time you are in the portfolios main window by

  115. pressing the Help key on your keyboard. Otherwise you can simply click
  116.  
  117. on the "Help" button located on your lower right hand corner.

  120. The following is a list of the menu located at the top of the screen.

  122. And can be accessed by holding down the right mouse button.

  127. Project. Here Is the Menu Where All The Load, Save, Print, And Other

  132.          Load:   Loads a Portfolio or other standard ASCII file.

  134.          Save:   Saves Current Text As A File.

  136.          SaveAs: This Allows you to save a file under a different name

  138.                  from its previous Load Or Save.

  140.          Print:  Print the text. See More Installing for more

  144.          Insert: Similiar To Load, But allows you to combine two texts

  146.                  into one.

  148.          New:    Clears the screen so you can start over.

  150.          Quit:   Quits the Portfolio.

  155. Edit:  This is where all of the cut and paste features are.

  158.          Gototop: Goes to the top of your text.

  160.          GotoBottom: Goes to the end of your text.

  162.          Cut Line: Places a line in to the buffer so you can paste it

  164.                    somewhere else and deletes the source line.

  166.          CopyLine: Same As Cut Line, But Leaves The Source line there.

  168.          Pasteline(s): Pastes all the lines you cut or copied.

  170.          Delete Line: Kills A Line And Does Not Copy it. Gone For Ever.

  172.          ClearBuffer: This Deletes all the The Lines You Copied to the

  174.                       Memory.

  176.          Insert Literal: This is a menu showing all those "Hard To Find"

  178.                          keys. Just click on the one you want and it

  180.                          appear in the document. There are is also a

  182.                          date and time selection which allows you to

  184.                          insert the date or time like this: 04/05/92.

  187.           Replace:      Of Course, You Can't Have Search Without Replace!

  192. Extras:  Here Is The Neat Extra Stuff For The Portfolio. All Of

  194.          Them Are Fairly Self-Explanatory.

  197.          Tiny-View!: This Program Allows You To View Another Text While

  199.                      You type your note. To Load Check The Menu Bar For
  200.  
  201.                      the Load And Quit Selections In the Tiny-View.

  203.          SoftwareDatabase: This Is A DataBase For All Of Your Programs.
  204.  
  205.                            Simply Click On the Window To Start A new
  206.  
  207.                            Database. Then Follow The Buttons. Load,
  208.  
  209.                            Save, Quit, New, And Print Options Are Found
  210.  
  211.                            in the Menu Bar.

  213.          PowerWords: These Are Nice Hard To Spell Words That You Can Use

  215.                      to spice up your document. You can insert them into

  217.                      your document by simply double clicking on them

  221.          Calandar: This Is A Calandar/Appointment Reminder. All the

  223.                    options are printed on the screen for you. See The

  225.                    On-Line Help If you want to know more. But It's

  227.                    Really Self-Explanatory.

  229.          StateAbreviations: Here Are Those Often Forgoten two Letter

  234. Prefs: These Are Preferences For TP.

  237.        Macros: Yes, There Are Macros Now! Selecting Macros, Brings Up

  239.                A Built-In Macro Editor. After Editing The Macros, Select

  241.                Save Or Cancel. To Use Them, Simply Go To TP And Press

  243.                The Coresponding Function Key. F1-F10.

  245.        Byword: This Is A Preference Which Effects The Search And Replace

  247.                Commands. When Searching, It Looks For The Whole Word

  249.                By Itself Instead Of Just A Part.

  251.        Global: Like Above, This Causes Changes To Be Made To The

  253.                Whole Document When Replacing.

  255.               Palette: Allows you to edit the screen colors.

  257.        Case Sensitive: This, When Searching, Cause TP to Look for the

  268. Mr. Res:

  270.       You've probably never seen anything like this before. It was added 
  271.  
  272. by a special request for a program which supports overscan. It is not
  273.  
  274. solely for overscan however. On a interlace sceen, TP canot be dragged.
  275.  
  276. This is due to the redifined gadgets, ect, for 1.3 users. So to drag
  277.  
  278. the screen drag the Mr. Res to a different position and TP will go to
  279.  
  280. that corner on the screen.

  283. The Search Command:

  285.       The Long Box on the left hand corner, holds the search command.
  286.  
  287. To use it, Click On the box and type in a word to search for. Then Press
  288.  
  289. return. If the word is found the cursor will then jump to that word.

  291. To search for the same word again, just click on the search next button,
  292.  
  293. located next to the search bar.

  296. The Gadgets:

  298.       The Gadgets might appear different to you, That is because I am a

  300. 2.0 freak. I made them look similiar to WB2.0 for WB1.3/1.2 users!

  302. Anyway, The Button in the top right corner is the screen toggle button.

  304. Pressing this will move the Portfolio's Window Behind any others you 
  305.  
  306. have behind it. This is useful if you want to load something else while
  307.  
  308. still running The Portfolio. However, The Button Next To It Is Called
  309.  
  310. The Iconify Button. This Button Shrinks The Portfolio (don't worry 
  311.  
  312. All Your Work Is Safe) To A Smaller Screen So You Can Do Other Things
  313.  
  314. While It Sits Around. Pressing It Again On The Smaller Screen Causes
  315.  
  316. It To Expand Bacxk To It's Original Size.
